Legacy is an exhibition that looks at survivor art through a historical lens. In this exhibit, members of the Awakenings community act as our docents to guide us through our Permanent Collection by sharing their modern interpretations and responses to the work.
Our collection of artwork created by sexual violence survivors began with founder Jean Cozier’s acquisitions and has grown over the years to comprise over 100 works. Artwork from this collection can be seen at Awakenings and has traveled to business and community centers around the city of Chicago to educate and share stories on survivorship.
