Partnerships
At Awakenings we believe the healing power of artmaking can be amplified when we take the time to build and integrate into a creative community. Our partnerships bring our survivor-centered arts programs and events to our partners’ clients, students, and communities. Our partners include high school education programs, college safety and prevention initiatives, storytelling shows, and crisis centers. Want to partner with us? Let us know.
Our partnerships are often open and free to anyone impacted by sexual violence. Sometimes our partnership programs are available to only our partners’ members. Please see individual partnership information below for more information.

Embarc Workshops
Awakenings partners with Embarc to bring Chicago Public High School Students into a healing arts space. Students visit the studio and spend a day learning how survivors heal through different artmaking modalities and then try this out themselves through collective printmaking, painting while dancing, or collaging.

Project S.A.F.E. Workshops
Awakenings partners with Project Securing a Fear Free Environment (S.A.F.E) to bring art workshops directly to City College campuses. Project S.A.F.E. is an initiative funded by the office on Violence Against Women that works to make colleges safer spaces.

Bring Healing Workshops to your Community
I can not speak highly enough of the creative, healing work I have witnessed and experienced at Awakenings! They truly understand the creative process as an in-road to healing, and how to create and facilitate experiences that are empowering and give voice to survivors and those impacted by sexual trauma and violence in our communities. I have also witnessed them to be trauma-informed in how they approach their programming, decision-making, and ways of supporting survivors in moments that can often feel vulnerable or overwhelming in their healing journey. As a therapist, I am confident in referring my clients to their programming and events, knowing they will be welcomed in a safe and inclusive space and by Awakenings staff that are ready and willing to support them.
