Arts Programming Intern Fall 2022

Duration & Time Commitment: Late August-November. 12-15 hrs/week to be scheduled in accordance with Intern Availability.

Direct Supervisor: Programming Coordinator, Jackie Valdez
Our Mission: Awakenings is an arts nonprofit dedicated to making visible the artistic expression of survivors of sexual violence.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
The goal of this internship is to provide the intern an opportunity to obtain hands-on experience within a small arts non-profit during a season of programming. For the Fall of 2022 this position will specifically engage with the outreach, publishing & launch of our literary magazine Awakened Voices Issue 14, as well as, the planning, install/deinstallation, outreach and execution of our 12 year anniversary exhibition & event A Dozen Creations: Celebrating Survivor Artists.
This internship will be a hybrid model with some remote and some in-person hours conducted at the Awakenings gallery.
Compensation:
Please note that this internship is unpaid. College credit is available.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent written & communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Works well in a small team & is a self-starter
- Experience with art handling preferred, but not required
- Experience with event planning & support preferred, but not required
- Experience with Canva, or WordPress preferred, but not required
